We moved our daughter here after just not having a great feeling at her previous one, and my goodness the difference it’s made. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, it is a home from home and our daughter is so happy and settled here. The girls in the baby room are the most amazing ladies and I’m so thankful, my daughter adores them! Kayleigh the manager made me feel comfortable from the get go and I don’t want my daughter to ever move on from Lucy the baby room lead, she is incredible.

Our space
Hazlemere is set within a welcoming bungalow that feels just like home. With only 21 children, days feel calm, familiar and unhurried, and every child is truly known by the whole team. Children of different ages share parts of their day together, building confidence, friendships and a natural sense of belonging. Dedicated spaces also give babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers the right environment for each stage of their development.

Our enclosed garden gives children a safe and inviting place to play, explore and enjoy the changing seasons together. The wider neighbourhood becomes part of nursery life too, with regular walks and visits to the nearby park helping children discover their community and feel connected to the world around them.

More than 25 years later, the nursery is still shaped by that same family instinct. Hazlemere operates as a single, mixed-age room, so children move freely between activities, ideas and friendships throughout the day, indoors and out. Outdoor learning is part of everyday life too: children regularly explore the local countryside, noticing the seasons and discovering a world that no classroom could ever fully recreate. Rather than waiting for an adult to decide what comes next, they learn to make choices and explore independently, always within sight of a familiar face.

Discounts
- Full-time (5 days a week): 10% discount, already applied to the 5-day price shown above
- Referral programme: refer a family who joins us and you both receive 10% off for 3 months
- Sibling discount: 5% off for the eldest child (full-time only)
- A&W College staff: 10% off for 4 or more days a week
- School teacher discount: for 3 or more days a week, fees are calculated over 43 weeks instead of 51. Evidence required (school ID badge). No other discounts apply alongside this one.
How funded hours are stretched
Government-funded hours (15 or 30 a week) are spread evenly across the whole year rather than just term time, so your weekly hours stay the same all year round:
- 30 hours funding: 30 hrs x 38 term-time weeks / 51 nursery weeks = 22.35 hrs a week
- 15 hours funding: 15 hrs x 38 term-time weeks / 51 nursery weeks = 11.17 hrs a week
Monthly fees are worked out the same way: your weekly rate x 51 weeks a year, divided by 12, so you pay the same amount each month regardless of how many weeks fall in it.
Food charges
Charges for food will be applied for days where funded hours are taken and will be itemised on the invoice. Prices above are fully inclusive of food, wipes and suntan cream.

- Ad hoc full day (08:00-18:00): £100.12
Extended hours
Early starts from 07:30 and late finishes to 18:30 are available in addition to standard session times. Please ask us for current availability and cost.
Closure dates
We are closed from Wednesday 23 December 2026 to Friday 1 January 2027 inclusive. 23 December 2026 is also a staff training day.
Review date
This fee schedule is reviewed on 1 April 2027, at management's discretion.

We're based at 12 Chestnut Lane, Hazlemere, HP15 7BZ, which is a short drive from both Holmer Green and Widmer End, as well as nearby areas like Totteridge and Great Kingshill. Yes. Every 3 and 4 year old is entitled to 15 universal hours a week regardless of parental work status, and working families can access up to 30 funded hours from when their child turns 9 months old, subject to meeting the government's working and income criteria. When you enquire, we will talk you through exactly how the funding applies to your child's place here at Hazlemere.
We welcome children from 6 weeks old right through to 5 years at this setting. Because we care for such a wide age range under one roof, younger children grow up alongside older ones, which is something families often tell us they really value. We'd encourage you to get in touch sooner rather than later, as places can fill up, particularly for the youngest age groups.
Hazlemere is rated Good by Ofsted, which means inspectors were satisfied that children are safe, well cared for, and making good progress in their learning and development. It reflects the day-to-day quality of what goes on here, not just what happens during an inspection. We're proud of the rating and we're always looking at how we can keep improving.
Hazlemere is a converted bungalow, and that genuinely shapes the feel of the place: it's a real home-from-home rather than a purpose-built setting. Children of all ages spend time together across shared spaces, which builds confidence and gives younger children a chance to learn from older ones, while dedicated areas mean each age group still has what they need. Our garden is on the smaller side, but it's well used, and we take regular walks into the local community and visit a nearby park so that outdoor learning and a sense of belonging stay central to the children's days.
The easiest way to book a tour is to choose a time online that works for you, so we can show you around and give you a proper feel for the setting. Once a place is confirmed, we work with you and your child to settle in at a pace that suits them, making sure they feel comfortable before you step back. Every child is different, so we don't take a one-size-fits-all approach to those early sessions.
