We moved our daughter here after just not having a great feeling at her previous one, and my goodness the difference it’s made. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, it is a home from home and our daughter is so happy and settled here. The girls in the baby room are the most amazing ladies and I’m so thankful, my daughter adores them! Kayleigh the manager made me feel comfortable from the get go and I don’t want my daughter to ever move on from Lucy the baby room lead, she is incredible.

Our space
Every part of Marlow Bottom has been designed around the children who use it. Babies have their own peaceful building, while toddlers and pre-schoolers move into increasingly open and active spaces as their confidence and independence grow. Warm materials, child-height furniture and low, open storage allow children to make choices, follow their interests and take an active role in their day.

Outdoors
Our expansive garden gives children space to move, imagine and discover, with a woodland glade, construction area and allotment where they grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. Children spend time outside every day and in every season. Regular walks through Marlow Bottom and the surrounding countryside also help them explore their community and experience the wider world beyond the nursery gate.
We're at 59-61 Marlow Bottom, with on site parking for drop-off and collection. Just 5 minutes from Marlow town centre by car.

My daughter joined The House That Jack Built in September, having moved to Marlow Bottom from Marlow. The new manager Michelle and her team have been fantastic. The nursery is always clean, my daughter hardly gets ill as opposed to the other setting where she was always sick. All events and learning objectives are always carefully planned and carried out. My daughter is happy to go in and has not cried once. Thank you to all the lovely staff for being great.
A lovely bustling day nursery which prides itself on exceptional childcare. The staff I worked with were wonderful during my university placement years and the children were a joy to be around. Sleep, feeds and nappy changes follow your baby's own pattern, recorded in a daily diary, alongside sensory play, water play, music and buggy walks outside.
Sleep approach
Babies sleep to their own pattern, not a fixed routine. Staff check every ten minutes and record it, with cotton bedding kept just for your child and gentle music playing.

Discounts
- Full-time (5 days a week): 10% discount, already applied to the 5-day price shown above
- Referral programme: refer a family who joins us and you both receive 10% off for 3 months
- Sibling discount: 5% off for the eldest child (full-time only)
- A&W College staff: 10% off for 4 or more days a week
- School teacher discount: for 3 or more days a week, fees are calculated over 43 weeks instead of 51. Evidence required (school ID badge). No other discounts apply alongside this one.
How funded hours are stretched
Government-funded hours (15 or 30 a week) are spread evenly across the whole year rather than just term time, so your weekly hours stay the same all year round:
- 30 hours funding: 30 hrs x 38 term-time weeks / 51 nursery weeks = 22.35 hrs a week
- 15 hours funding: 15 hrs x 38 term-time weeks / 51 nursery weeks = 11.17 hrs a week
Monthly fees are worked out the same way: your weekly rate x 51 weeks a year, divided by 12, so you pay the same amount each month regardless of how many weeks fall in it.
Food charges
Charges for food will be applied for days where funded hours are taken and will be itemised on the invoice. Prices above are fully inclusive of food, wipes and suntan cream.

- Session fee (08:00-13:00 or 13:00-18:00): £51.17
- Ad hoc full day (08:00-18:00): £100.12
Extended hours
Early starts from 07:30 and late finishes to 18:30 are available in addition to standard session times. Please ask us for current availability and cost.
Closure dates
We are closed from Wednesday 23 December 2026 to Friday 1 January 2027 inclusive. 23 December 2026 is also a staff training day.
Review date
This fee schedule is reviewed on 1 April 2027, at management's discretion.

Yes. Every 3 and 4 year old is entitled to 15 universal hours a week regardless of parental work status, and working families can access up to 30 funded hours from when their child turns 9 months old, subject to meeting the government's working and income criteria. We will talk you through exactly what applies to your family when you get in touch.
We welcome children from 3 months up to 5 years old at this setting. Places at the younger end tend to be in demand, so it is worth getting in touch sooner rather than later if you have a baby or are expecting. We are happy to have a conversation before your child is born or very early on, so you are not left trying to sort it at the last minute.
We hold a Good rating from Ofsted, which reflects the quality of care, learning and environment inspectors found when they visited. In practice it means there is a consistent standard running through how staff interact with children, how the rooms are set up, and how we track each child's progress. It is a useful reference point, though we would always encourage you to come and see the nursery for yourself rather than relying on a rating alone.
Marlow Bottom's rooms are arranged by age, so babies have the calm of their own space while older children have room to be busy next door, each one matching exactly where children are developmentally. Outside, a woodland glade, a construction area and an allotment where children grow their own fruit and vegetables mean the garden does as much of the teaching as the rooms do.
The easiest way to book a tour is to choose a time online that works for you, so you can come in and have a look around. Settling in is taken at your child's pace rather than following a fixed timetable, because every child adjusts differently and we want them to feel secure before you step back.
